Happy Friday!

Happy Friday, everyone!  Out of all my hopes and wishes for this blog page, the one thing that seems most important to me is being honest with all of you.  I don’t want to sugar coat things.  I want to be real here.  So, today I will come flat out and say I struggle with comparison of others on a daily basis.  It is REALLY hard to avoid comparison when people are constantly surrounding us!  I seem to struggle when I notice individuals who are more advanced in areas that I still have to work on in my daily life. I often forget that the best things take time, and achievements are normally part of a process that doesn’t happen overnight! But here’s the thing I am slowly beginning to realize: comparison robs us of our enjoyment. It takes away from all of the things that matter most to us.

Have you ever actually felt better when you spent time comparing yourself to other people?  Probably not.  I don’t think we can ever truly feel happy or free unless we learn to care at least a little bit less about what others think of us and stop comparing ourselves to them. Always remember that everyone has something they are dealing with, which we most likely know nothing about.  We all have insecurities, or things we want to improve about ourselves.

So, here’s my reminder to you for the week to just let yourself live!  Be silly.  Have fun.  And be who YOU are.  Life is TOO short to focus on the things that we don’t have.  Focus on what you do have.  Focus on all of the wonderful qualities that YOU have to offer.  You are amazing and have the power of doing magnificent things.  Have a great week, everyone 🙂

Namaste.

This is a great reminder that I needed! I am guilty of this too, and it can make me insecure and miserable if I let it get the best of me. It’s such a waste of time. Focus on what your special abilities and enjoy the journey of getting where you want to be – all good things come in time.
